Website Terms of Use

The following are the rules or “Terms and Conditions” that govern the use of Families First (NI) Ltd website to include any social media platform used in association with FFNI which shall apply to all Award events and all events promoted by the Promoter in any media including without limitation online.  By using or visiting the Site, you expressly agree to be bound by these Terms and to follow these Terms and Conditions and all applicable laws and regulations governing the Site. Families First (NI) Ltd and their respective affiliates and subsidiaries reserve the right to change these Terms at any time, effective immediately upon posting on the Site. Please check this page of the Site periodically. If you violate these Terms of Use, FFNI Ltd may terminate your use of the Site, bar you from future use of the Site, cancel your ticket order, and/or take appropriate legal action against you. These general terms and conditions apply in addition to any specific terms and conditions which may be mentioned in any promotion of or messages about that awards vote on any platform (“interaction information”).

Together these general terms and conditions and the interaction information shall be referred to as the “interaction terms and conditions”. To the extent that there is any inconsistency between these general terms and conditions and any interaction information, the interaction information will prevail.

The interaction terms and conditions may be amended at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be posted on the FFNI website. It is your responsibility to ensure you review the current interaction terms and conditions before entering any events or awards ceremonies organised by the promoter.

By taking part in any event or awards ceremony organised by the promoter, you accept and agree to the interaction terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any of the interaction terms and conditions then you should not take part in the awards.

We recommend that you print and store or save a copy of these terms and conditions for future reference during the process.


FFNI Ltd does not promise that the Site will be error-free, uninterrupted, nor that it will provide specific results from use of the Site or any Content, search or link on it. The Site and its Content are delivered on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. FFNI Ltd cannot ensure that files you download from the Site will be free of viruses or contamination or destructive features. FFNI Ltd will not be liable for any damages of any kind arising from the use of this Site, including without limitation, direct, indirect, incidental, and punitive and consequential damages. FFNI Ltd disclaims any and all liability for the acts, omissions and conduct of any third party users, FFNI Ltd is not responsible for the products, services, actions or failure to act of any venue, performer, promoter or other third party in connection with or referenced on the Site. Without limiting the foregoing, you may report the misconduct of users and/or third party advertisers, service and/or product providers referenced on or included in the Site to FFNI Ltd at FFNI Ltd may investigate the claim and take appropriate action, in its sole discretion.


FFNI Ltd logos as well as design found on this site are registered trademarks of FFNI Ltd and may not be used unless without the prior written consent of FFNI Ltd. 

Ownership of Materials

FFNI Ltd materials may not be reproduced, copied, edited, published, transmitted or uploaded in any way without FFNI Ltd’s written permission. 

General Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions are our “General Terms” and they apply to all Award Events organised and held by Families First (NI) Ltd. 

Each Award Event may also have its own specific terms and conditions. These “Specific Terms” may be published on the website or any social media platforms.   

These General Terms shall apply in addition to any Specific Terms, which may also be in place for an Award Event on any platform. You should always read these General Terms together with the Specific Terms. If any provision of the Specific Terms conflict with these General Terms, the Specific Terms will prevail. 

We may change these General Terms at any time so you should check this page regularly for any changes.

By entering or taking part in any nomination, voting or attendance of any Awards Event you are accepting that you will be legally bound by these General Terms and any applicable Specific Terms.

Eligibility Rules for Award Events

Unless we impose a particular age limit, they are open to all persons aged 18 and over who are resident in Northern Ireland or Republic of Ireland at the date of their entry.  

All Award Events are open to children (aged 15 or younger) and/or young persons (aged 16 or 17), any person under the age of 18 must notify FFNI Ltd and have had written consent by FFNI that this is acceptable. 

Whether any eligibility requirement has or has not been met is always decided in our sole discretion and we may require evidence or confirmation from entrants before awarding prizes. 

Employees and their immediate families (and the employees of any third-party sponsors, prize providers or their immediate families) may not enter any Competition. Any such entries are invalid.

Entry and Entry Methods

Voting for any Award Event is online only via the FFNI website by following the online instructions. 

For competition entry, entrants must answer the question or complete the task specified and submit the information as indicated.

Entrants in all cases, will be required to provide their full name, full contact telephone number (including area code if providing a landline number) or other method of contact (if applicable), email address and/or any other information as specified at the time of entering the promotion. This information cannot be amended once an entrant has entered the promotion.

In the event of any dispute concerning the correctness or acceptability of any award, the decision of the Promoter shall be final.

One entry per category is permitted, multiple votes by one person shall be disallowed.

Voting: The following terms and conditions applies to all voting  together with any Specific Terms. 

The opening and closing date and time for entries are as indicated on the FFNI Website. Any entries received before the voting opens or after the closing date and time will not be counted.

The Promoter in their sole discretion at any time, may suspend, withdraw or re-set any voting and/or may change times for voting and participating, 

Decision making: In the event of any fault, mistake, misunderstanding or dispute concerning the correctness or acceptability of any answer or response given by an entrant, or the operation of any part of the voting process or any Award given, the decision of the Promoter shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into. 

Deficient entries: In all voting for all Award Events, we reserve the right to reject any entries that are incomplete, incomprehensible, damaged or otherwise deficient. We also reserve the right to reject entries that are unlawful, indecent, racist, inflammatory, defamatory or which we consider to be otherwise harmful. We accept no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries including but not limited to texts, calls or emails not received due to technical disruptions, network congestion, loss in service of online entry mechanisms, computer error in transit or any other reason. We cannot enter into correspondence with entrants who experience difficulties with entering online. Any entries received which are in any way in breach of these General Terms or Specific Terms will be void and will be disqualified from the Competition.

There is no cost for voting or taking part in the voting process.

Votes must not be sent in through agents or on behalf of another person, and voters cannot submit votes as an agent of any other person.

Winner Selection

The winner of some categories, are selected, based on the following criteria:

  • Assessment of comments received.
  • Comments and information questionnaire.
  • Private day nurseries, and Community play groups are visited by a Families First ambassador, and the winner will be chosen by our independent team.

In the event of a draw between two or more entrants, the entrants shall be deemed to be equal winners.

Winner Contact

General contact: The winner may be contacted prior to the Awards evening. This will be at the discretion of the Promotor.

The following general terms and conditions apply to all Award Events by the Promoter

All Award Events will take place at a venue, date and time as previously stated by the Promoter via the Promoter’s website or other platforms.

Neither FFNI and/or the Promoter are not responsible for any change in venue, date or time to the Awards Event or for any loss, damage caused to you.

5.5 Restrictions:

5.6 Voting and participating in the interactive poll is intended for individuals as consumers and the Promoter reserves the right to discount votes or polls if they reasonably consider them to have been made other than by individuals as consumers.

5.7 The Promoter is unable to confirm the integrity of and is not responsible for any vote or poll services promoted outside the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man or for any unofficial voting methods as these are not within their control.

5.8 Votes must not be sent in through agents or on behalf of another person, and voters cannot submit votes as an agent of any other person.

5.9Right to discount votes/polls: The Promoter reserves the right to discount votes or polls if they have reasonable grounds to suspect they have been made from outside the UK, Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands, from unofficial third party voting services or otherwise in breach of the interaction terms and conditions.

5.10 In the event of any fault, mistake, misunderstanding or dispute concerning the outcome of a vote or poll, or the operation of any part of the interactive service, network or system, the decision of the Promoter shall be final.

5.11 Result: The result of the vote or poll will be established from all eligible votes or poll entries submitted between the opening date/time and the closing date/time of that vote or poll and received by the Promoter. The outcome of the vote or poll will be revealed and/or published by the Promoter after the closing date.

5.12 Contingencies: In the event of a tie or if the outcome of a vote or poll cannot be reasonably determined because of a technical failure or other circumstance beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter will (where possible) calculate the outcome of the vote or poll taking into account the circumstances and information available to them at the time and/or will apply contingency plans as indicated in the interaction information to determine the outcome of any vote or interactive poll.

5.13.  All awards are presented on the night – these are not virtual awards, and photographs are taken then.   If you do not attend the awards your nomination, finalist position, and award will be forefeited.  Awards cannot be collected by a third party unless previously agreed with the promoter.

6. Manipulation of services

6.1 The Promoter is committed to operating award events, including without limitation competitions, prize draws, voting and interactive polls, fairly and to preventing abuse of its systems, as well as those of its agents and sub-contractors.

6.2 For this reason, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify and/or discount entries, votes or polls if they have reasonable grounds to suspect, at their sole discretion, having regard to all the circumstances and information available at the relevant time, any of the following:

6.2.1 Activity has occurred that is designed to excessively manipulate the outcome of the interactive service; or

6.2.2 Votes, polls or entries have been made in breach of the interaction terms and conditions; or

6.2.3 There has been any activity which the Promoter considers is designed to unfairly influence the interactive service and/or provide an unfair advantage to the voter or entrant or the making or disguising of multiple entries or votes by an individual entrant.

6.3 If we determine that an individual has attempted to unfairly influence or manipulate an interactive service then in addition to disqualification and/or discounting entries, votes or polls for that interactive service we may (in our sole discretion) ban that individual from future interactive services and disqualify and/or discount any future entries, votes or polls made in respect of our interactive services.

7. Liability

7 In relation to all competitions, prize draws, votes and polls promoted by the Promoter:

7.1 Nothing in the interaction terms and conditions shall exclude or limit the Promoter’s, liability for death or personal injury caused by their staff or suppliers’ negligence or for fraud or for any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded by law or regulation.

7.2 None of FFNI employees and officers or the Promoter can promise that the services relating to a competition, prize draw, vote or poll will be free from errors or omissions nor that they will be available uninterrupted and in a fully operating condition. These services may be suspended temporarily and without notice in the case of any problem with any network or line, system, server, software, or for any technical malfunction or failure, maintenance or repair or for reasons reasonably beyond the control of the Promoter. Subject to 7.1, FFNI do not accept responsibility where all or any part of the service relating to a competition, prize draw, vote or poll is discontinued, modified or changed in any way.

7.3 Subject to 7.1, the Promoter, does not accept responsibility for any fault, malfunction, damage, loss or disappointment suffered by you as an entrant or participant howsoever arising from participating in a vote whether due to any error, omission by the Promoter, or their employees, agents or others or by any other cause.

7.4 Subject to 7.1, neither FFNI, and/or the Promoter are responsible for any damage or loss caused to you (i) which is not reasonably foreseeable to you and to FFNI, the Promoter when you enter a competition, prize draw or participate in a vote or a poll or (ii) is reasonably foreseeable to you and to FFNI, and/or the Promoter on entry but is only indirectly related to you entering or participating in a vote.

7.5 Subject to 7.1, FFNI, and/or the Promoter will not be liable to reimburse the cost or expenses incurred in participating in a vote or poll where applicable.

7.6 Subject to 7.1, FFNI, and/or the Promoter do not accept responsibility in the event that any entry, vote and/or poll is lost, delayed or not properly received registered or recorded

7.7 Subject to 7.1, FFNI, and/or the Promoter reserve the right to amend any element of a vote for reasons beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to the unavailability of the vote, before the closing date, or for strike, lock-out, labour dispute, illness, act of God, natural disaster, adverse weather conditions, war, riot, civil commotion, accident, epidemic or pandemic, malicious damage, fire, flood and/or storm, compliance with law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, breakdown of plant, machinery or transportation. FFNI, and/or the Promoter are not responsible for any loss or damage caused to you as a result of any of these occurrences.

7.8 You agree to reimburse FFNI, and/or the Promoter in respect of any damages suffered by FFNI, and/or the Promoter or any losses by FFNI, and/or the Promoter resulting from any claim made by a third party in each case in respect of any matter arising from your use of the services relating to the competition, prize draw, vote or poll in breach of the interaction terms and conditions or from your violation of any applicable law or regulation.

8. Privacy

8.1 Information and data (“personal data”) which is provided by you when you enter a competition or prize draw, or participate in a vote or poll, will be held by the Promoter and may be used by the Promoter, and their service providers, network operators, suppliers and contractors for the purposes of administering the vote or poll. You agree that this includes without limitation that we may contact you if there is an issue with the interactive service.

8.2 By taking part in the vote you agree to participate in publicity at the Promoter’s request if you are the winner of an Award. You agree that the Promoter (or any third party nominated by the Promoter) may in its sole discretion use the winner’s (and if applicable their companion’s) name and image and their comments relating to the Award and their experience for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid.

8.3 If you are the winner of an Award you agree that the Promoter may list your name and location on the winners’ page of the FFNI website(s) and FFNI may publish or announce your name and location elsewhere (including without limitation in the programme) as FFNI determines in its sole discretion.

9. General

9.1 Please note that by making an entry, vote or poll you are consenting to us starting the interactive service immediately and any rights you may have to withdraw from or cancel your vote (including but not limited to under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013) will be lost because the performance of our services is simultaneous or begins immediately once your purchase is completed.

9.2 You agree that you do not have any commercial relationship with FFNI and/or the Promoter, and that you are not an agent of FFNI and/or the Promoter.

9.3 The interaction terms and conditions are available in English only and shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of N. Ireland

9.4 No correspondence shall be entered into regarding the Award results under any circumstances. The Promoter does not have a Complaints Policy.

9.5 Should you be unable to attend the awards or wish to withdraw, any monies paid, will not be refunded.  Tickets held in reservation with part payment made, the remainder will be expected to be paid IN FULL.  All sponsor monies will not be refunded. And any outstanding monies will be payable.

9.6 The promoter reserves the right to change venue or postpone an event at their discretion, where the new venue is within a 50 mile radius of originally stated venue, no refund will be payable for tickets or sponsorship already purchased in this instance.

9.7 Once payment of tickets is made (except in the case of death of immediate family) no refund will be made. There is no refund on any tickets purchased and the purchase of said tickets does not guarantee an award.

10. Covid-19 and Variants:

If your event has been postponed due to any Government restrictions, we will contact you. Your ticket will be valid and you will be offered an alternative date.
